Our two-year old son loves this book and asks over and over for "Brimsby." It is a fun story to read and just the right length and tone for bedtime. It's especially good on a cold or snowy day.But perhaps most important, as a parent, it never gets old for the reader. The story is told as much through the artwork as through the words. The illustrations are truly beautiful and very different from what you usually see in a children's book. This is a real work of art and there is an impressive variance of perspective and composition that draws you in and shows you something new every time you read it. The simplicity of the illustrations is deceptive-- at first glance they are very approachable animations, but every time you read it you notice a new detail.This is now our go-to gift for friends with young kids, and we've ordered a stack of them.The jacket says this is Prahin's first book-- hope he writes and illustrates a lot more.
